Thankfully there's Wiener and Still Champion
in Evanston, if I need my bacon fix. They have battered, deep fried bacon. I'm intrigued, but scared, and have yet to order it.
I was somewhat disappointed by the Big Fat Bacon. Perhaps I had it built up too much in advance. The bacon was not of the highest quality. And there wasn't that much maple flavor. The Pig Lickers over at Famous Dave's were much better. In case you're haute cuisine illiterate, Pig Lickers are Neuske's bacon, covered in chocolate. Absolutely fabulous. Of course you could cover Neuske's bacon in pretty much anything and I'd eat it. Deeeeelish.
